The condition of the slopes, recent snowfall, current weather, live cam feeds, pricing and ski maps of the many different resorts. All in one mobile app and now available for Nokia’s Ovi Store.
During winter season, the Swiss ask themselves “how much snow is there in the mountains?” or “what’s the weather up there above the clouds?” on a daily basis. If the circumstances are good, people grab their skis or snowboards and take the early train to spend a sunny day working the snow on the lovely slopes.
To keep snow enthusiasts well-informed about the current weather conditions and other important information from more than 250 Swiss winter sport resorts, MySwitzerland – the Swiss federal tourism organisation – had already launched a highly successful Snow Report application for the iOS platform developed by the talented guys from include7.
With the intention to include Nokia phone users, Spoiled Milk was hired to realise the application for the Nokia platform.
Spoiled Milk came up with an interface design that could match the Nokia look and feel, but at the same time draw advantage from the latest trends in design innovation.
Development of all functionalities took place in the QT framework, which led to a solution that nicely displays the conditions of the slopes, shows recent snowfall, current weather, live cam feeds, pricing and ski maps of the many different resorts.
Oh, and it’s free.
